A remarkable landscape artist

Jeff Law transformed our plain-Jane suburban yard into a Texas Hill Country retreat! His riverbed/waterfall creation takes my breath away every time I walk out my back door. Jeff is truly a remarkable landscape artist, with an eye for detail. His plantings are spectacular with splashes of color everywhere which is sure to attract hummingbirds and butterflies to our backyard sanctuary! Thank you so much, Jeff for providing us with this amazing piece of Heaven! We highly recommend Jeff to transform your space into your own cozy retreat.

The result was as if he had read our minds.

It has been almost one year since we met Jeff Law. We had just purchased our home with a large very bare back yard. We knew the yard had huge potential, but we didn’t know where to start.
Our criteria included xeriscaping, native plantings, with color and texture to attract butterflies and birds. We also wanted an Outdoor kitchen, Fireplace and multiple seating areas.
We met with Jeff several times with our wish list. He had ideas of his own and the result was as if he had read our minds…
Flagstone pathways are surrounded by raised beds with eccentric fun plantings. He created a protected area for birds and butterflies, with a unique bird feeder made from reclaimed wood. One path leads to the outdoor kitchen pergola, a beautiful pair of antique doors act as shutters. Another path leads past a fountain and dry creek bed to a cozy seating alcove and fire pit.
Jeff has a way of visualizing ideas that only knowledge, experience, and talent can do and then brings the conception to reality.
We started with “phase 1” but quickly moved thru phases 2 and 3 because we were so excited with the initial results. What we ended up with is nothing short of spectacular (at least in our view).
Barely a day goes by that we don’t witness some sort of transformation as we watch our garden evolve and in March our garden was included on the annual Garden Conservancy Tour in Houston.
Jeff is a pleasure to work with and we would recommend him without hesitation.

The peaceful oasis we wanted.

We highly recommend Jeff Law and his crew at Kabloom Landscaping. We had Jeff help us turn our front and back yards into the peaceful oasis we wanted. Jeff presented us with many options by showing us a variety of plant and design pictures. He listened to our ideas, made suggestions and created a plan that truly captured what we wanted. He outlined the construction steps, how long it would take and when work would begin. Jeff and his crew showed up on time, put in full work days and completed our yard on schedule. Jeff’s crew consisted of exceptional, hardworking, and creative men. They were focused on doing a good job not completing the project quickly. We could not be happier with how the yard turned out.

Jeff is truly one of a kind.

We waited a long time after being in our home to landscape. Our backyard was a large, open space with really no color other than the green trees surrounding our property. Although my husband & I are somewhat "do it yourself" folks, we found ourselves overwhelmed not knowing where to start and how to pull everything together. We wanted an outdoor sanctuary and retreat to bring us off our back deck and get us into our yard. After finding KaBloom and contacting Jeff, I knew instantly he had the creativity and vision to make a unique space for us to enjoy. We showed Jeff many outdoor pictures that I had been collecting from magazines, talked about colors and some challenges with our property. Then...KABLOOM! Jeff is like a genie in a bottle who pops out to make your landscaping wishes come true! Jeff has the unique ability to design and create exactly what you are dreaming of, even when you don't know what that "dream" should look like. My husband & I trusted Jeff from the start and our result is even better than what we could have ever imagined! We are amazed it is the same backyard - worth every penny and Jeff is truly one of a kind who creates "one of a kind" sanctuaries. We gained a new retreat and a new friend, thanks Jeff! Looking forward to years of enjoyment, watching things bloom and grow.

A Jeff Law house and garden is comparable to no other.

Living in one of his houses is like living in a work of art, only more fun... Jeff has the ability to take metal, wood, glass, stone, color, and light and make magic. I know, for I lived in such a house. It is my dream to do so again. There 's just nothing else like Jeff's work. Pure JOY.

Magical Pinache.

We have found nothing in Houston, maybe Texas, like Jeff Law's Indian Summer Lodge. It is magnificently designed, articulated and detailed to sweep you away into a very warm and intimate, delightful fantasy-both inside the buildings and on the incredible grounds he created from a condemned property. Everywhere you look, you are immediately surprised. He is a genius at creating spaces that are otherworldly, what an imagination! ...once you step onto the grounds, you leave any preconceived notions of Texas at the doorstep.

Jeff Law: Unique Living Space 605 Columbia

Jeff Law is a visionary, an artist and a risk taker. He has changed his Indian Summer Lodge retail space into his own living quarters. The 70-year-old Quonset hut that was built during World War II to house soldiers has been transformed into a home unique by any standards. Recycled materials abound as do flourishing plants. He is, after all, "The Plant Whisperer" of his landscape business, KaBloom.

Gardening for kids

"KaBloom" It was done. An empty atrium was turned into a living lesson for special needs students at Harris County's Academic and Behavior Center West.
"I like to create something beautiful from something ugly," said landscape artist of 30 years and KaBloom owner, Jeff Law. The Heights resident volunteered to work with the students to spruce up their school for spring.
"It was fun for me to see the kid's enthusiasm and teamwork and see their efforts result in a beautiful flower garden. So, I thought other kids might be interested in learning something different this summer…"
…Jeff Law designs homes from recycled materials and gardens that take little care. He plants flowers that don't even need watering! His email is www.kabloomlandscaping.net

A Wizard, perhaps? or a guru. Or a prophet

"Jeff Law has creatively transformed the Heights more than once over. Law is the man who almost single handily was responsible for the renaissance of the tony 19th street in the Heights in the 1990's. When he first arrived there in the early 1980's, there were "only a few shops on the street" he recalls. "They weren't even nice enough to be called antiques stores really."

Artist-inspired cottages ready in the Heights

At 1024 and 1026 Herkimer, off 11th Street in the heart of the Heights, the hand-crafted cottages have front-yard, white picket fences, palm trees, stone pathways and front porches that are large enough for a table, chairs and porch swings. At every turn in the homes, there is something new and artistic to discover. Jeff Law has an artistic eye for detail.
